Level 1-31 requires the player to navigate a jagged, cavernous terrain to reach the finish line located at the top right of the map. Unlike previous levels where gravity is often a tool for momentum, 1-31 treats gravity as a constant adversary. The level provides a limited inventory—typically including balloons, bellows, and basic wooden frames—requiring a design that is light enough to lift but sturdy enough to survive collisions with the low-hanging cave ceilings. Strategic Engineering Success in this level hinges on two primary mechanics:
By Level 1-31, the game throws a curveball: . Unlike balloons, which provide constant lift, the battery powers a small motor. This motor runs out of juice after a few seconds. Your challenge is to build a machine that travels upward and rightward before the battery dies, detonates a TNT crate to clear a path, and glides safely into the goal zone.
: You can also use a three-box cart with a soda bottle on each end and the pig in the middle. This "light" build is often more resilient during landings.
Navigate Ross (the pig) safely to the goal.
: Start with the powered wheels running to gain speed toward the first ramp. Vertical Boost : Fire the Black Soda Bottles
Level 1-31 is a pivotal moment in the Bad Piggies campaign. It forces the player to abandon the "trial and error" spamming of parts and actually visualize the center of gravity. It teaches a lesson that persists for the rest of the game:
