Like much of the entertainment industry, Cosmid has navigated the shift from physical DVD sales to digital distribution. In the modern "Attention Economy," where short-form video dominates, the long-form, leisurely pacing of gravure DVDs represents a changing media landscape. However, dedicated fanbases in Japan and abroad continue to support these physical releases as collector's items.

Even journalism has adopted Cosmid 09 12 principles. Investigative documentaries are now released as 90-second vertical videos for TikTok (the hook), a 20-minute YouTube essay (the analysis), and a fully-sourced, wiki-style database (the archive). The line between news entertainment and fictional popular media has blurred, with both using identical dissemination tactics.
