KMS activators work by emulating a KMS server on a local machine or network. When a Microsoft product is installed, it checks for a valid product key or attempts to activate through a KMS server. A KMS activator intercepts this process by responding as if it is a legitimate KMS server provided by Microsoft, thereby tricking the Microsoft product into thinking it has been activated legitimately.
