The primary way to add a map to your trip is by ensuring your plans include specific location data. When you forward confirmation emails to plans@tripit.com, the TripIt system parses the data. If the system detects a recognized venue—such as a Hilton hotel, the Louvre Museum, or JFK Airport—it assigns a geo-tag to that specific plan item.
Map View only displays pins for plans with a valid address in the address field.
A map will only appear if the plan has a valid address. If a confirmation email is missing one, manually edit the plan and add the full street address.
So go ahead. Open TripIt. Click "Day." Tap "Map." And watch your itinerary come to life.
| Issue | Solution | |-------|----------| | Map tab missing | Update TripIt app or use web version. Free version still has basic map. | | No pins | Your trip has no locations with addresses. Add hotels or venues. | | Wrong location | Edit the item → correct the address → map refreshes. | | Map is blank | Check internet connection. Try toggling between days. |
