To ask "Whose is [something]?", use the following structure:

(e.g., "del hermano"). If the article is feminine or plural (la, los, las), it does not contract (e.g., "de la", "de los"). Possessive Adjectives

Possessive adjectives must agree in with the item being possessed, not the owner.

Example: Es hermano de Jill (It is Jill’s brother’s).

Use su for one item owned by one or more people, and sus if the items being owned are plural (e.g., sus parientes ).
