The film follows (played by the iconic comedian Fausto Mata ), a young man living in a poor neighborhood of Santo Domingo. Fed up with his life working in a family store, Genaro dreams of escaping poverty by becoming a "Sanky Panky"—a local man who woos wealthy foreign tourists in hopes of securing a visa to the United States.
