Can we survive

We're in the Jaws of Extinction

Moscow, Berlin, Singapore, Washington DC, London. The radio’s are still working, but there is no one left to use them. The only confirmed safe haven is Eden-Nadir, an island off the coast of the United States of America and headquarters to Thanatos Pharmaceuticals.

Thanatos pioneered a miracle treatment, designed to be a universal cure for deadly diseases such as AIDS, Cancer. However, the best of intentions became the worst of consequences when it was released that the cure had a devastating side effect. The fungi used in the engineered cure (Ophiocordyceps unilateralis) began uncontrollably spreading through the bodies of its hosts. Upon reaching the brain, it would feed and destroy the parts responsible for cognition. Only by keeping part of the host’s brain alive, the malignant fungal infection would control it’s host with the singular interest of proliferating its noxious spores.

Ueberschall Houseworx |link| File

: Originally released as a sample CD, it was often used with hardware samplers of the time, such as the Roland JV-1080 expansion cards or Akai samplers.

However, a sophisticated analysis would be incomplete without addressing the potential critique of loop-based production: the risk of sounding derivative or becoming musically lazy. Houseworx directly confronts this problem through its design philosophy. It is not a collection of "song-starters" that run for 32 bars and force the user into a pre-choreographed arrangement. Instead, the loops are intentionally short—typically 2, 4, or 8 bars—encouraging rearrangement. The user is empowered to break away from the supplied structure: muting the kick in one section, reversing a pad, or extracting the MIDI file (if using the Elastik player’s MIDI drag-and-drop feature) to re-voice a chord progression with their own synth. Furthermore, the pack includes numerous "fx" and "transition" loops—risers, downlifters, and filtered sweeps—that allow the producer to build tension and release, moving beyond simple loop layering into genuine arrangement. Thus, Houseworx serves as a vocabulary, not a script.

(1999) is arguably the greatest house music library ever released.

Producers today often return to Ueberschall Houseworx to escape the "over-processed" sound of modern EDM. The library offers a "natural, artistic live feel" that is difficult to replicate with software alone. If you want to capture the essence of the "Swing City" sound or the grittier, soulful house of the late 90s, Houseworx remains an essential toolkit.
